چکیده

This study used a novel integrated technology of ceramic supported carbon membrane (CSCM) to degrade azo dyes through an anaerobic mixed culture. The CSCM worked simultaneously as biofilm support, redox mediator, and nano-filter enhance the dye decolorization efficiency. Acid Orange 7 (AO7) was initially investigated with without microorganisms in both support (CS) reactors. bioreactor (B-CSCM), operated microorganisms, gave maximum 98% using evolved from 10% weight (wt.) Matrimid 5218 solution. To know influence permeate flow, feed concentration, structure on process, different B-CSCMs for removal experiments were studied over monoazo AO7, diazo Reactive Black 5 (RB5), triazo Direct Blue 71 (DB71). highest color removal, 50 mg·L−1 solution 0.05 L·m−2·h−1 flux, 98%, 82%, 72%, respectively, RB5, DB71. By increasing these parameters 100 0.1 L·m−2·h−1, rate still achieved 37% 30% 26% In addition, system run weeks apparent loss activity. These findings make evident that combined phenomena taking place result efficient, cost-effective, ecofriendly method.

The Comparative Study on the Rapid Decolorization of Azo, Anthraquinone and Triphenylmethane Dyes by Anaerobic Sludge

An anaerobic sludge (AS), capable of decolorizing a variety of synthetic dyes, was acclimated and is reported here. The sludge presented a much better dye decolorizing ability than that of different individual strains. A broad spectrum of dyes could be decolorized by the sludge. Continuous decolorization tests showed that the sludge exhibited the ability to decolorize repeated additions of dye....

Comparative studies on decolorization of textile Azo dyes by different bacterial consortia and pure bacterial isolate

A total of 47 bacterial isolates were isolated and screened for their ability to degrade selected azo dyes. Of these, one isolates were chosen for further studies based on their ability to degrade a wide spectrum of dyes efficiently and rapidly and identified as Xanthomonas campestris MTCC 10,108. Several microbial cultures Pseudomonas flourecense, Bacillus subtilis and Rhizobium radiobacter pr...

Kinetics of anaerobic biodecolourisation of azo dyes.

Kinetics of anaerobic biodecolourisation (methanogenic environment) of four azo dyes (Acid Orange 6, Acid Orange 7, Methyl Orange and Methyl Red) was investigated with regard to their electrochemical properties as well as under variation of dye and sludge concentrations, pH and temperature. Cyclic voltammetry revealed a correlation between the potential of irreversible reduction peak of the dye...

Degradation of a model azo dye in submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor (SAMBR) operated with powdered activated carbon (PAC).

This work investigated the anaerobic degradation of the model azo dye Remazol Yellow Gold RNL in an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor (UASB) and two submerged anaerobic membrane (SAMBR) bioreactors, one of which (SAMBR-1) was operated with powdered activated carbon (PAC) in its interior. The reactors were operated at 35 °C with a hydraulic retention time of 24 h in three operational phase...

Decolorization of azo dyes (Direct Blue 151 and Direct Red 31) by moderately alkaliphilic bacterial consortium

Removal of synthetic dyes is one of the main challenges before releasing the wastes discharged by textile industries. Biodegradation of azo dyes by alkaliphilic bacterial consortium is one of the environmental-friendly methods used for the removal of dyes from textile effluents. Hence, this study presents isolation of a bacterial consortium from soil samples of saline environment and its use fo...
